The history of EFI
The roots of the FEDERATION can be traced back to the late 1970s and stem directly from the work of the Committee of Experts in Histocompatibility set up under the auspices of the Council of Europe. In 1981, the Members of the Committee decided that it was time to establish a formal organization for immunogenetics and tissue types.
