Anne Halpin is an HLA Director in the Transplant Laboratory at Alberta Precision Laboratories at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at the University of Alberta. She has an undergraduate degree in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology from the University of Alberta, an MSc in Community Health from Trinity College, Dublin, and completed her PhD at the University of Alberta. She is currently serving as the President of the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI). Her research is focused on histocompatibility and ABO-histocompatibility. Anne is a living kidney donor and an advocate for living donation. If she was an ABO-A2 subgroup, she would have requested that her kidney went to an ABO-O or B candidate!
