Dr. Cathi Murphey is the histocompatibility and immunogenetics laboratory director of Southwest Immunodiagnostics, Inc. in San Antonio and Gift of Life Michigan. She has more than 30+ years of experience in the field of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics. Dr. Murphey has served as the chair of the UNOS Histocompatibility Committee, and currently serves on the new OPTN Board of Directors. She has published numerous papers and book chapters. She is also active in ASHI, has served on many committees including the National Clinical Affairs Committee (NCAC) and is currently the Past President of ASHI. She most recently was a co-project leader of the “ABO Histocompatibility” project at the 19th IHIW in Japan. Dr. Murphey is also a member of American Transplantation Society (AST) and International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT).
