Dr. Duangtawan Thammanichanond is a Clinical Pathologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand. She specializes in transplant immunology and histocompatibility, with expertise in HLA antibody analysis, eplet-based matching, and killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) biology in transplantation.
She has served as the Director of the HLA Laboratory at Ramathibodi Hospital for over 15 years and is the Program Director of the Transfusion Medicine Residency Program. Her clinical and research work encompasses immunological assessment in solid organ and hematopoietic cell transplantation, laboratory development, and translational research to better understand immune mechanisms affecting transplant outcomes. She is actively involved in advancing laboratory medicine through clinical practice, education, research collaboration, and professional activities
