Marco Andreani, Ph.D. is currently the President of the European Federation for Immunogenetics (EFI). Moreover, he is the Director of the Transplant Immunogenetics Laboratory at the Pediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù in Rome, in Italy, and member of the local Ethic Committee.
His fields of interest are Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics for both Hematopoietic Stem Cell and Solid Organ Transplantation, Genetics of Populations and Immunological Tolerance. He is Author or co-Author of more than 160 publications in peer review scientific journals.
He was Chair of the European Board of Transplant Immunology from 2017 to 2021, member of EFI Educational Committee from 2010 to 2019, EFI Commissioner for Region 7C in Italy from 2016 to December 2023, Councilor of the EFI Executive Committee from 2019 to 2022. He is an EFI Inspector from 2006 and member of the EFI Population Genetics Working Core group from 2015 up to date.
